Welcome To the Oakland Defensive Ebook

This ebook was designed to have the best sheds in the game so you can have a balanced approach to stopping both the Pass and the run. As always I like to present multiple formations and looks so you have options against your opponents. What works against 1 opponent may not work against the next, and this ebook will provide the flexibility to adapt to whatever offense your opponent runs Enjoy shutting down your opponents with these plays/setups and if you have any questions whatsoever reach out to me on twitter @acemaddentips – always glad to help.

**NOTE: The following videos include blitzes/setups in PRACTICE MODE. Blitzes do not behave the same in Practice Mode – but all setups work in game (All-Pro/All-Madden) and will be showcased in the gameplay towards the end of the ebook.

This gives you the ability to frequently get the best animations when you’re 1 on 1 with the tackles.

Put your best man coverage Corners at safety. Since we are cross manning the 2 most important attributes are 1) Man Coverage 2) Speed. If you don’t have good Man coverage on your team – put the fastest guys you can put there.

Put your best zone corners OR safeties at the CB positions.

Your left of screen DT must be a fast/athletic DE that can chase down scrambling QB’s. He will be in a spy so added height to disrupt short crossing routes is a bonus.

For Linebackers just have good speed/height and if you want good coverage they’re usually in zones. In Nickel W9 we use safeties, not LBs.[/et_pb_tab][/et_pb_tabs][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.10.1″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_divider color=”#000000″ divider_weight=”5px” _builder_version=”3.10.1″][/et_pb_divider][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.10.1″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.0.47″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.10.1″]

This gives you additional run fits and whenever they run the ball the safeties will crash to the line of scrimmage to help stop the run. That’s what makes 43 Wide 9/Nickel Wide 9 especially good.

5) OPTIONAL (Preferred) man up your safeties. This time do not man up on the furthest inside player on the opposite side. Man them up on the outside WR’s so they don’t get a free run at the end zone.

1) BA
2) Pinch D line and crash them down
3) Pinch LB’s
4) Bluff blitz your Slot CB (this gives you a 3REC zone) do this by double tapping Y or Triangle for your secondary menu. Select your slot corner and move your right stick to the right.

5) Adjust coverage with shading underneath or over the top. Depending on which zone you want (can keep seam flat as well if they’re hitting you up the seams)

6) User right of screen LB or Safety and hover with him over the RG. Shoot over to right side flats post snap.

**OPTIONAL: You can leave the slot corner blitzing will improve chances of blitz coming in vs 6 blockers. You can also move him closer to our DE but make sure everything looks the same**

**Watch this video through so you can see how you can get very adjusty out of this formation. You can send as many as 6 and as little as 3 with a spy.**

Cross Man Setup

1) Optional BA (BA brings better alignment but Clouds won’t be as effective)
2) Cross man your OLB (which we have safeties subbed in) on the furthest inside slot/player on opposite sides of the field.
3) Choose between leaving deep Safeties on deep halves or manning them up on outside WR’s.

**Note: If they’re running compressed, you’re going to want to be careful not using Deep blues, including a MLB deep blue**

This is 1 of the more different formations in the ebook regarding personnel. This is because I often like to leave LB’s in instead of Safeties – mainly because they are staying in the A gap which will mean 1) they’re shedding 2) one or both of them are blitzing. Bigger bodies are better for this specific formation, especially since we have the ability to user our slot corner with 95 speed.

Rather than a complete setup I’d rather provide notes.

1) Pinch your LB’s and they enter the A-Gaps

The reason this is so useful is because we can now give the illusion of all out pressure, make your opponent block his RB and still send 3.

You can of course global blitz your LB/Safeties by hitting RB or R1 and down on the right stick. Mess with your d-line stunts if your opponent continually picks up the 6 man pressure.

Having this flexibility of shed defense and all out pressure is unmatched. Be sure to mix this in.[/et_pb_tab][et_pb_tab title=”Any Play” _builder_version=”3.10.1″]Time Stamp 4:14

You can use any stock play out of this formation. I’m just including this tab so you guys don’t feel limited in using Cover 3 Buzz Show 2.

You can use Tampa 2…you can use Cover 4 Quarters. This is a shed d and mixing up your coverage is important.

If you use any kind of match coverage like Cover 4 Quarters or Palms try to avoid sending 6 because there will be too many holes.[/et_pb_tab][/et_pb_tabs][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”3.10.1″][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”3.10.1″ parallax=”off” parallax_method=”on”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.10.1″]
